Run and hide
your unanswered cries
despair lives behind
those drowned eyes
Wade on through
holding your breath
a new day is dawning
but you choose to forget
Breath a sigh
a sigh of relief
then count one mississippi
and you return to the deep
Pretend no one can see you now
as you hide in the mucky gray
free from life's tidal waves
so long as you don't surface today-

'The Wall'
When she was but
a child so small,
she built this wall
that stood so tall.
She tended to it
keeping it strong,
she lived in a world
that had so much wrong.
Her eyes did see
life's cruel mistakes,
yes there was love
but more so was hate.
There she stayed
on her side of the wall,
listened and felt
and feared it all.
Years put a distance
between her and the wall,
she stepped away from it's shadow
was not there to see it fall.
Love and forgiveness
showed her the right way,
you see...this life is too precious
to live in past days!

"Death knew there would be two"
She said good-bye
as his last silent breath left
eyes blinded with grief
she found her way home
soon she will be with her love
pills she took
were starting to take affect
pulling the covers up tight
she held his pillow in her arms
with all her might
death stayed throughout the night
listened to her cries
and waited by her bedside
he knew there would be another death
for it was told to him
in her lovers last silent breath.
