If only for a moment...

To see the world come alive
with morning sun light, as it
gently pushes aside the dark
night sky...

To see a doe and her fawn
drinking from a reflecting
pool of water, the first
sight in the morning...

To see the smooth rocks formed
from a beautiful waterfall,
that flows endlessly down
a mountain side...

To see a rainbow stop
traffic, all gazing upon
it's incredible dome, memorized
by uncountable colors...

To see the sky turn
to deep red violet color,
as the sunset leaves it's
fiery trail behind...

To see so many stars across
a black velvet sky, you get
dizzy from spinning about
to take them all in at once...

If only for a moment,
you could, see through my eyes...

'End of Winter'

Candles burn
on the third night
of a winter storm.
Schools are closed
most roads are too.
Four feet of snow
blankets our home,
while winds soft melody
sings a winters tune.
The family gathers
around the fireplace,
camped out for the night,
faces all reflecting
the fires warm light.
Reminiscing
of times gone by,
the stories all begin with
do you remember when...
and I, for the first time
wish, that winter
does not come to an end-

"Timeless Beauty"

This beautiful old pine tree
outside my window view,
stands alone in a large field,
of soil gone un-tilled.

Molded by natures hand,
nourished by it's rain and sun,
this tree of unique grace
is mirrored by none.

Majestically it reached
to the open blue skies above,
now leaning over to one side
twisted limbs aged over time.

Lifeless it appears,
no longer does it sway in the wind,
a faded shadow of green color,
shows it's age outside and within.

A landmark for miles around,
withstanding time long gone,
this old pine trees roots
remain deeply planted in fertile ground.
