-HAIKU Style-
Haiku are unrhymed and consist of three lines. The first and third lines have 5 syllables, the second has 7. The most important characteristics of haiku are that they are both imagistic and suggestive. But also included in the best Haiku is the observer. It is the observer's perception of the image or images that is the real subject of the poem. Haiku are usually seasonal, with either the explicit mention or simply the suggestion of a season, and that they almost always convey a sombre, quiet, reflective tone. Haiku is Zen poetry.
